Memorial Objective Photograph #4 On March 10, 1999, Mollie Moore Davis 217 and the City of Tyler hosted the ceremony for the dedication of Oakwood Cemetery, Tyler, Texas, as a Texas Historical Cemetery. This dedication was the culmination of efforts by the Oakwood Cemetery Association.  Mollie Moore Davis 217 is an integral part of the committee.   The cemetery is the resting place of Governor Richard Hubbard and many dignitaries from Tyler.  Over 200 unknown Confederate soldiers and many Confederate veterans are buried there.  Each April a memorial service is held at the base of the Confederate Monument. Pictured with Past Chapter President, Mrs. Maxine Herbst, is Texas Congressman Ralph Hall and Mr. F. Lawerence Oakes, Executive Director of Texas Historic Commission.
